Hon Wm Colby

Dear Sir,
When I got home I found the carpenters intimidated & nothing done. I have now contracted with other parties for a brick building which under the circumstances I suppose much the best & not costing a great deal more. I got the bid put at $1550.00 by having hauling &c by outside parties. The party (Mr Rhodes) who now has the contract will put it through I think in a little over sixty days as he is a pushing fellow.
I hope there will be no delay in the inspection of the building after completion, as I have specially obligated myself for the prompt payment of the money. If you discover any errors please correct them at your office, as there will be not time for corresponding.

Truly &c E. E. Henderson
