Sir,
The Freed Woman who made complaint against me yesterday for not paying her in full for her last year work is named Amy Harris I think not Amy Harrison, the was a married woman when I hired her from her husband Dilliard Harris last year for the sum of twenty five dollars I have a written contract between the said Dilliard Harris and myself for the hire of his wife last year you can see by the enclosed copy of contract that a reasonable deduction was to be made for a long sickness during the year she had a child consequently I lost one months of her work for which I deduct two dollars also eight dollars for taking care of her while confined amounting to ten dollars the said Dilliard Harris owes me as the enclosed account will show it will be inconvenient to attend on the 2 April as I expect to start north I hope the above will be satisfactory.
Yours Respectfully
Thomas D Harris

Postscript
The said Amy Harris was present or with her husband when I made the above contract with him and seemed satisfied with it
