December 7th, 1955

Mr. Donald W. Douglas, President
Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc.
Santa Monica, California

Dear Doug:

I enclose herewith official communication sent to me which accompanies Oficio #27006 -22159, dated December 6th, and addressed to doctor Paul Dudley White.

I do not know why this latter note is so addressed, but in any case it covers completely the projected trip. Moreover, it has no time limit. I had sent the Acting Secretary of Marine a translation of your letter to me, and assume that your mention of Dr. White caused the Secretariat to address him directly.

Hoping that you have a very successful expedition, and that the whales stand still for the experiments, I remain,

Sincerely,

E. R. Silliman

P.D. I have taken the liberty of photostating these oficios for fear the originals might be lost in the mail. Salud.
