Mr. E. R. Silliman
General Manager
Compañía Mexicana De Aviación, S. A.
Mexico, D. F.

Dear Tubby:

It was nice of you to take time from your busy schedule to drop me a note. Gertrude and I were both sorry that you and Raquel did not visit Chicago as planned. We would have enjoyed visiting with you.

Although my leaving United was accompanied by some bitter feelings on both sides I do feel very proud of what I contributed to the success of the company. Some rather vindictive insinuations have been spread by some people but I feel in the long run it will only hurt them inasmuch as my own conscience is clear.

I have taken longer than anticipated in making a new association but I have passed over some propositions with an eye toward something that I really want. As it stands now we expect to make a definite decision before November 15th and although I do not think it will be in Chicago I do think it will be a position where we can renew our business associations. I will let you know as soon as it can be revealed.

We have noticed your advertisements in the Chicago papers. I hope the initial load factors have been satisfactory. I am glad that you commenced operating ahead of American - it is always nice to get the jump on your competition.

Please give my regards to Raquel and do not forget to let us know if you are coming to Chicago.

Sincerely,

Glen
