Dear Doris

After a very cold night it came out pleasant and warmer, on the whole this has been a cold and cloudy week. we have not had any sun since Thursday. it was cloudy all but two days & very cold I washed out my clothes yesterday afternoon and hung them on the porch. we dont have to go out side to hang them & they dry just as well. also they are well protected against wind & storm. you spoke of putting in windows there. I dont want them as windows would be in the way. the screens prevent all snow from coming in & by painting them occasionally they would be all right. the rest of the neighbors leave them in one gets more air in the summer time without them. the windows would be a bother I think.

I got the bundle yesterday. it came all broken but nothing was lost or injured. the paper was torn but the string held everything in place. I will begin on them this week. if every thing goes all right. have been very busy doing odd jobs for the last few days.
