Dear Doris

The week has begun cold & cloudy, I suppose turkeys will keep better. your thanksgiving you will celebrate Thursday. hope it will be pleasant. we shall have ours on the original date next week. it makes but a little difference to me as this year I am to be alone just us two. Bill is coming later in the day. he invited himself Sunday night. Lena was with us last year, hope she will have some one she knows entertain her this year. she misses Mary Lynch I guess. to bad to be alone as she is, her relatives are not very cordial, she is one who gets sick of people easily. no home ties. it looks like snow & feels like it, hope it doesn't come too soon they have had it up north in abundance we will get it next.

Laura has got so she drives her car quite a bit. she has invited Mrs Barry to go to Brockton this after noon if pleasant. she is apt to over do. Mrs Gilcher dont get into people's good graces, not a good mixer they say she takes to Evelyn Giles rather poor taste. Evelyn had a real fight with Blanche Hammond on the street, they called police to stop it.
