Stoughton November 16th 1939

Dear Doris

We are having milder weather & sunny days the thermometer was 40° on the porch at quarter of eight our leaves have gone from the trees & mostly blown away so far we have had only two snow flurries hardly noticeable.

Wednesday afternoon she went to the movies & from there to her church supper & fair at half past six. they dressed as Mexicans she wore a very showy light blue dress with red & yellow flowers & regular Mexican apron with wide orange belt & strings, with orange ruffle below, bracelets to match, long earrings & pendant on her chain, & a most beautiful orange high comb. she was very showy & everybody said she looked lovely. the church made $75. its to be continued to night by the men. they are to have hot dogs, last night was a regular turkey supper with nice squash pies. she had a chance to come home early with Frank Reynolds & arrived at eight o'clock in time to see Mrs Austin who came after her hat & brought her rug that Josephene
