he made covering for both sky lights other wise they would both been smashed & also made supports for the chimney which was also lucky as the chimney swayed with the breeze & when the top fell it was a wonder he wasnt nocked off the roof. he said the bricks were worn very thin, lots of them & so he bought new ones he plastered the chimney inside the whole length & spent two hours plastering the other one on the main part. he is very thorough & understands his business, he thorough does all of Bills work. thats the reason Bill takes such an interest in him. he finds him jobs & so naturally aims to please him.

The wind is rising & its growing cooler. we are looking for a sudden change in temperature  we whichare always subject to. I have just laid in a ton of coal & a supply of oil, also ordered kindlings it never rains but pours. they have just come.

Tom Woods back yard is full of dahlias they come clear up to Frank Capens line, so I went over to the old place with Mrs Barry & came home through George McGarveys yard & we saw them. they were worth looking at. all shades. the frosts will surely take them. too bad Ma
