Dear Doris

We are having now a cold storm after a few warm & sunny days it has blown from the north west so this morning I was up early to get the house warm & turned on the oil heather then made a coal fire in the kitchen & managed to get the rooms warm. it come so sudden on the heels of our mild weather we werent prepaired for such a change, we needed the rain for every thing is so dry, it has been such a dry summer we are in danger of fires, ponds are very low, I hope our drinking water dont give out. rain will come in abundance probably & flood every thing later on.

I was sitting patiently waiting for time to get ahead so to go to bed tired out when we heard a great commotion out side & who should it be but the Sphers Georgie Parkins & Doris Spoher I would rather have seen the drink the are such great talkers & all talk to gather I thought it would make me crazy but managed to live through it & went to bed all keyed up
