Dear Folks

Pleasant & still cool for the time of the year. I dont envy people who go to beaches to find recreation. The Ballantines have just started bag & baggage for some place of the sort. Gertrude is now taking her vacation & little Marie & her dog they are all going this time.
Everything is dry our lawn is brown we dont have to cut the grass these days thanks be. Bill came over last night after nine O'clock I was abed & also sound asleep, he is coming again next week & wants me to stay up for he is going to bring over an ice cream he is very loyal.

Mamie Kate has been here in town for a visit she went back yesterday to Wenham after calling on her friends in town, she is looking very thin with out color no blood, but is constantly on the go. I dont see how she stands it, nor anybody else, Elizabeth did'nt cater to her for the simple reason she thought she should keep queit. there is no false pretention to her Elizabeth she says what she means & means what she says.
