she invited Mrs Barry down there while Mamie was there & sent me some of the treats & was sorry I was'nt able to be with them. Mary (Holmes) Winslow did the same, she sent me a two quart bottle of ginger ale, it was an unusual thing to be remembered for me & I knew how to appreciate it. Laura Gibhartd has always been nice to me & even included me in the fourth of July birthday celebration, down to Blue Hill & treated to ice cream & afterwards took us to ride. she is still very careful & does'nt mix with the others as she used to & does'nt have only her own folks to come there, she simply avoids excitement. her husband (Bill) is a nice man & simply worships the ground she walks on. if anything happens to Laura, it would kill him. he does most of the work & plays in the symphony, a fine position. she does not give lissons now, she had Barbara Marden for a pupil & knows she is a number one player, so they got her up there to meet one of the symphony players & they have got her to become a pupil after hearing her play & says she is remarkable in that line, she is very smart at everything she undertakes. its too bad she has anything to interfere with her wonderful career.
The things we worry the most abou never come true, so why worry, think things are not going to happen & they wont. we dont know what the future will be, but we must hope for the best. Mystic is coming to see us Mystic & Alice came I must change my dress right now I guess. Ma
