+ it rained all the time + there they had to finish it inside + ended up by singing. They were wet though so after the supper it cleared off. They were then sorry they had it out side.
               Florence + her brothers have just been here to know if little Doris has arrived, they are anxiously wait^[[vertical]]ing[[vertical]] her arrival. do you have any idea when you will come? Mrs Barry is waiting to know, she wants to plan to take her vacation also. I suppose it will be the last of August as usual.
             Our neighbors across the way are reviving the game of croquet, they found an old croquet set now they play, there every night + the Elmses are playing to[[space]]day they have seen them + now they have found theirs and are playing Sunday with company some of their folks probably. its a nice quiet game + does them no harm. They came over here to see if I had a set but I hadnt, so they got one down where Mrs Wall worked a man had one he didn't care to keep, so he gave it to her.
             I am sending a piece I cut out of the paper about Myra Southworth visiting Maude. They are all living at the old place again on Grove St since the fire, Mrs Williams says. People think he set the fire, but its another thing to prove, it was the house next to the one he lived in. he sold the one he lived in + bought this one that burned. he will do these thing once [[large space]] too often + then see.
