I wonder how the berry crop is coming on. I always think of how Mrs Griffin + I went a berrying down on the old plain. that terrible hot muggy day. I cam as near passing out as I ever did + its a wonder why I did'nt. she found them tick the very last thing in a horse briar place + I lay under the shade of the stone wall waiting for her to come along. I wish you could have seen her she was a ragbag had to tie her stockins to keep them on her coming home through the streets. we were sights she always speaks of it when ever we meet. she comes to Alice Lambets summers but I have'nt seen her lately. Hattie Smith still lives + carries on her store, young for her years Ma
