Dear Folks

After a dull rainy day with a thunder shower in the early morning it bids fair this morning to be pleasant + free from humidity. I suppose you folks are suffering with heat. you seemed to have it during the royal visit according to the paper you sent home I am glad the great event is over + hope their magesties are satisfied.

I forgot to mention in my last letter that Dr Toomeys wife died last Sunday. She broke her hip, they took her to a hospital then she came home + pneumonia sat in + she died very soon after + the funeral was yesterday Wednesday. they buried her in the family lot in Randolph. she was four month younger than I am born the same year in June. Mary can marry now the place is in her name. Ella Hooper is her only chum in this town so Addie says, she does not speak to the Ballantines because they dont approve of her man she goes with. they say he is very cheap, not up to her standard, he is up to her house every night. I should think it would wear her out but she does'nt grow old looking from courting.
