Stoughton May 19 1939

Dear Folks
I am still in trouble over the Bruce old cesspool. George has just been over here to tell me the man cleaned out the cesspool & then he cleaned out his own. he thought after taking out one load out of ours the thing would be all right, but it began again to run over. George says its hard pan here & its most impossible for the water to soak in. there has been rains & the ground is full of water & the chances are his may run over. 
This man advises digging 2 drains for the water to run into as the only way out of it & he will take out another load, so the liquid can run into the drains. now its going to cost more than two months rent to foot the bill & its worried me sick. I dont know what to do, so I told them to wait untill I found out of you what to do. George says not to worry but George asked him if he would guarantee it with out extra pay to be lasting & he said
