I ate some clam chowder yesterday which upset my stomac. but feel all right today. Mrs.Barry says canned clams are not fit to eat + she never will use them again. fresh ones are not good enough for her.
   If this weather continues we shall have to take off the outside windows. our cold storm we usually get this month, does'nt seem to mature, of to that we usually have settled weather. after the May storm usually we take off our winter flannels for summer ones, but now a days people dont wear clothes they will soon go naked, the more one display their form the better(style.)
   I miss Lena Sunday afternoons. then she used to come up, I hope she is well cared for + is content. guess she may stay there all summer. she never had a home + thats what she will miss in after life, (if she lives,) 
   Mrs Barry met Aletta Black + she said in a couple of weeks she planned to go down to their show place for the summer. she said she had a nice talk over the phone with me + that I said to know her ancestors where they first came to town. her mothers youngest sister Bertha Richards was a dear + I have a little picture  of her still, their mother died when the children were young, he was a Methodist minister, they lived up to Jills corner + Bertha came to our school. she was a smart little thing her other sisters were pretty spunky.
