the majority of the schollars that went to school at that time. he was well behaved & studious & taught school for a livelihood always. they lived in the old Bargy Monk house at South Houghton guess they must have been related to the Monks, for Georgie Perkeins said she used to take Bradford Drake out to ride in his baby carriage when she lived at home.

Mrs Barry is home from church where she sang in the choir & said it went off beautifully. guess now she will sing most every sunday. they take more interest when sings she is a leader & they need her voice.

It is clouding up again & looks like April showers well being the last day it may. not much sun hope to have decent weather sometime. the paper had it we were to see a comet some time last week but I looker for it every night but guess it did'nt mature. I remembered the one in 1883 about four O'clock in the morning, the day after my fathers funeral Arthur had to get up early to go home to milk his cows, so he saw it & got me up to see it in the South East. it was over two yards long & brown, something the shape of an arrow. it was well worth seeing. Hazel was born in 1884 so it must have been either in '82 or '83 I dont just remember but it was the morning ater fathers funeral. I shall have to look it up, we are writing letters this afternoon & the sun is just coming out no raing this day good. Wonder how Luna is getting along nursing hope her health holds out. Pleasant tody
