Stoughton April 2nd 1939

Dear Folks

This is a stormy Sunday the first one of the month also. and a cold one into the bargain, the wind blew from the N west all night. yesterday was a nice warm spring day. we hardly needed a furnace fire but its very different to day. I hope we can have some spring like weather soon. 

As long as this weather prevails, nothing in our early spring flowering shrubs will start. the ground is soaked with water & cellars in the low lands will be flooded. Lottie crane says water stands in her land deep & she feels its only a matter of time before it floods her cellar. I should hate to live down in that hollow. they always have plenty of grip in her neighborhood. their family have all been sick with it so that Charlotte only worked half a day for most a week. Mary Winslow is good to take her when she moves into her new place, they will bring her home nights & get her in the morning I suppose. Mary dont like house work, but means
