Columbia S.C. Sir
I have the honor to report in compliance with the written order, that I have visited Emma More (freedgirl) at the residence of Ms. Campbell. Emma is at work for Mrs. Campbells, for forty dollars per year, and board. The parties are very much attached to each other, so much so, that when I told Emma that I had orders to send her to her mother at Charleston, she wept like a child, said she did not want to go to her mother, and if sent to her she would not remain. Mrs. Campbell raised Emma, and is very much attached to her. She is about eighteen years of age. If the order for transportation is sent me she can be immediately forwarded. I am Sir Very Respectfully Your Obedt Servt. Samuel [[Plare?]] C.[[D.?]]S.A.C.
