Seabrook to send Mr. C. an order to receive the corn from the ship, which he did and Mr. [(?)] received it and shipped it according to my directions, by the small boat, and it has been long since distributed to those who needed it. In my distribution of what has been sent me (Five Hundred Bushels Corn) I have discriminated as close as possible for me to do and not turn away any who might suffer. I have taken the ground that I had better give to three form who were not needy than by a too close discrimination, one person should be allowed to starve or even suffer the pangs of hunger. (which word you and I know the meaning of) and I have no doubt but I have given to those who were not needy for I have after giving to some heard they were imposters but the second time they did not get anything.
