Johns Island, So. Carolina

January 31, 1867

In accordance with Special order No. 15 p II dated Hd. Qrs Assistant Commissioner Bu. R.F. and A.L. So. Carolina, January 28, 1867 constituting us a board under Sec. [[strikethrough]] 2 [[/strikethrough]] 11 of "a bill to establish a Bureau of R.F. and A.L." "_" to access the values of buildings and improvements placed by freed people upon lands covered by possessory titles upon Johns Island, S.C." we have examined and assessed the improvements placed upon land covered by possessory title located by Jack Benyard (freedman) on plantation known as Isaac Gunnball" Waterloo tract, on said Johns Island, So. Ca. as follows:

One barn at $10. Ten Dollars, as a fair compensation to be made to the said Jack Benyard by the former owners of such lands or their legal representative.
