In accordance with Special Orders No. 15 p. II. dated Hd Qrs. Asst. Comsr. Bu. R.F. and A.L. So. Carolina, January 28. 1867. constituting us a Board under Sec  [[strikethrough]] 2 [[/strikethrough]] II of "a bill to establish a Bureau of R.F. and A. L." - "to assess the value of buildings and improvements placed by freedpeople upon lands covered by possessory titles on Johns Island, S.C." we have examined and assessed the improvements placed upon land covered by possessory title located by Joseph Singleton (freedman) on plantation Known as Paul Gervais "Exchange Place," on said Johns Island, S.C. as follows:

Two Dwelling Huts, at $60. Sixty Dollars, as a fair compensation to be made to the Said Joseph Singleton "by the former owners of such lands or their legal representatives."
