James Island So. Carolina
January 25th 1867

In accordance with S.O. No 10. p. 3 dated Hd Qrs assistant Commissioner Bu. R. F. and A. L So. Carolina January 17, 1867 Constituting us a Board under Sec. 2, of "a bill to establish a record of R.F and A.L." -"to assess the value of buildings and improvements placed by freedpeople upon land covered by prossessory titles on James Island So. Carolina."- we have examined and assessed the improvements upon land covered by possessory title no. 250 dated March 22nd 1865, located by Anthony McLeod (freedman) on the plantation known as the "Josiah McLeod Estate" on said James Island, as follows

Buildings- Three Dwelling houses and one shed at $225.00 - Two hundred and Twenty Five dollars, as a fair Compensation to be made to the said Anthony McLeod "by the former owners of such land or their legal representatives"
