Contract

Kurloch Plantation
C.C. Parish S.C. March 23, 1867

Memorandum of an agreement by and between Holland I. Batchellen now living on the Kurloch Plantation Christ-Church Parish S.C. and Judge McFashion living on the Gregory Plantation Christ Church Parish S.C. to wit- The said Batchelen has this day delivered to the said McFashion One Bay horse upon the following terms  The said McFashion is to pay for the horse as follows to the amount of One Hundred Dollars in cash and work $50.00 in cash the balance of fifty dollars in labor six days work weekley or fifty cents per day until the amount of fifty dollars is paid when the said Batchellen is to give the said McFashion a clear title to the horse.
The said McFashion agrees that if he fails to comply with the terms as set forth above that the said Batchellen shall peaceably and without opposition enter the premises of the said McFashion and take there from the said horse  Said McFashion binds his heirs Executors & administratirs to the faithful fulfilment of this agreement  Said McFashion further agrees that work shall be done in a good faithful workmanlike manner either by task or day labor of 10 hours per day
