Spartanburg S.C. Nov 8th 67

Col Caraher

Sir,

General Scott has directed me to communicate with you in regard to the orphan home. I am contracting with General Miller for a place that has two good buildings, that will be accommodation for 100 children, with the out buildings on the place. For these with 800 acres of good farming land he will be willing to take $12,000. If $6,000 are paid he will make titles to the land and wait till I can pay him the remainder. I have secured almost $1500 worth of such things as I need in the home.

Yours

J H. Edwards

N.B. For good reason I have concluded to move the home from Pendleton to Spartanburg
