I am sending you herewith a photograph of the beautiful picture by David, which you told me you would like to have.

The coronation of the Emperor took place in 1804. and the picture considered as David's masterpiece is the one which belongs to the French government and represents this coronation, which David only finished and signed and dated in 1908.

My picture is signed and dated 1907. which is in consequence the best period of [[?]] The emperor is represented as he is represented on the big picture on the Coronation of 1808, and this picture is supposed to have been painted for a member of the imperial family. It comes from the collection of Sir Richard Wallace.

I hope you are enjoying good health, and looking forward to seeing you some time in the near future, I be you to believe me,

very sincerely yours,
