February 13, 1924.

Dear Mr. Rene Seligmann:

I am on a Union Pacific train somewhere in Wyoming enroute to California on a quick trip with Mr. Chrysler. He is on this train and we are living together. Last week we were in Chicago together and enroute west I showed him the description of the tapestries which you sent me and he said he would like to send a personal representative to see them. He said he would not attempt to judge them for himself. I also learned that Mr. Chrysler during the past year has purchased a half dozen pieces of furniture from Duveen and in that in each instance he felt he was being given a very low price. He said that Duveen was after him constantly and was always making remarkable offers to him. He said that evidently Duveen hoped to sell him something worth while some day. Mr. Chrysler said he thought Duveens were good merchandisers but other than that he made no comment. Wewill be back in New York in about a month and I will continue to see what I can do. After I return my address will be 2313 Pershing Square Building, Park avenue and 42nd Street.

Very sincerely yours,

Carl H Getz
