Sir:
James Epps (cold) complains that Henry Brey, a citizen of your County, retains from him the following property. viz. Five (5) Head of Cattle, Twelve (12) Hogs. Twenty (20) bbls Corn, Six (6) Stacks fodder, and a barn full of tobacco, for debts contracted by said James Epps during the war and since; furthermore said Epps states that Brey desires to sell said property next Thursday if the debts are not paid.

You are hereby ordered to stop such proceedings on the part of said Brey at once, & have the Corn and Oats returned to said Epps until the matter is fully investigated from this.
