Sir:

You are directed to go to the plantation of Mr. Freeman Walker in Orange County and attend the weighing and division of a certain lot of Tobacco, same being the crop raised on Walkers plantation last year.  The Tobacco is in two lots, one of about 1350 sticks half of which is to be Walkers the other half to be Andy Oakley's (colored) the other lot of about 750 sticks.  Walker is to receive two thirds and Oakley one third.  The Tobacco not being in its original state as divided by sticks, it must be weighed and divided by one half and one third weight as above it must be a fair division both in regard to weight and quality.  Your bill of expense is to be equally divided.  Walker to pay you one half and Oakley the other half = no deduction is to be made for any purpose whatever is to be made from the colored man's share of the crop.
