Hillsboro N.C. March 3, 1868

Robert Bingham being duly sworn deposes and says

I live about seven miles from Freeman Walker's plantation in Orange County. Andrew Oakley (F.) worked for me from January 1867 during the year except about three months time he worked with Osborn Wilkerson (F) and others on Walkers plantation — at various times during the year I gave Andrew money and furnished him with orders on the store for provisions. Mr. Walkers wagon come for the provisions purchased by Andrew and took them to the plantation, as Andrew and the other Freedmen state, for their support while working the said plantation, and I have no doubt that they were all delivered as stated. Andrew was much pleased with the appearance of the Tobacco and frequently told me it was going to turn out a good crop. The usual custom through this section of country now and for many years
