N. C. Hester states - I started work on my father place with 3 colored hands at Christmas/66 we were to have 1/2 the Tobacco 1/4 of the wheat 1/3 of corn crops - we were to continue until the Christmas 1867. 51 Bbls of Corn 85 bushels of Wheat 1562}Tls. Tobacco 1250}sticks Aubry Crisp = went to work Christmas/66 for Mr. Hester with N.C. Hester. Young Jones we was to have 1/2 Tobacco 1/3 of all the grain (both corn & wheat) worked there a year 85 bu. wheat 75 Bbl. corn about 2400 sticks Tobacco. Jim Hester says about 120. sticks Tobacco. about 50 BBls corn 89 bu wheat - Young Jones = commenced to work for Mr. Hester in March 1867. My Daddy make the agreement with Mr. Hester that I should work for him until Christmas for $60. -
