Sir:
I am directed by the Colonel Commanding to furnish you with the following Copy of endorsement from Mr. C. B. Whittemore, Agent B.R.F.A.L. on your statement against A. E. Wilson.

Hillsboro N.C. April 24th 1868
Respectfully returned with the following report. I ave investigated this case and settled it by ordering Wilson to settle with the colored man by paying him for 22 Cords of wood in full and $1.00 per Cord on 27 Cords; and to allow him to remain on the plantation until Novr. 1st 1868, working a certain part of it as per Contract".
