Sandy Nelson (F) states that he commenced work for John Canada in the last of Nov. 1866 and left him the 5th Dec 1867. he was to receive 1/3 of the corn 1/3 of the Tobacco 1/3 of oats - the wheat was sowed but Canada promised me what was the custom of the country - say 1 bu. a day during harvesting - Sandy was to board himself which he did all the time harvest time included - Sandy states he never received any thing from Canada except about 13 bbls. of corn which was his just shares he thinks - The was 5 seperate cu[[?]ings as follows viz: 425 - 400 - 400 - 625 - 450 - Sticks total 2300 sticks = about 2 tt. to stick say about 4600 tts Tobacco - There was 27 due Oats coming to me as my share - I never got any = I worked at cutting wheat 3 days hauling 1 Day - worth 4 bu wheat - should have had my board during that time also - but I did not get it - Worked in the neighborhood at Bryant 1 day Widow Colemans 1 day Widow Kernels 1 day = 3 days at Thrashing on Mr Canada's a/c - worth 50 cents a day and board [[strikethrough]] but I boarded my self [[/strikethrough]] = got my board but nothing else - myself and two boys raised [[strikethrough]] raised [[/strikethrough]] the crop and was only assisted necessarily by my wife and Mr Canada  
I have received 2 1/2 bbls corn at 7.50 per bbl - 18.75
