being duly sworn deposeth I says Have heard all the testimony given in this case today. never heard any threats from Robert Allen myself only such as have been told me by other people. these threats have been reported to me by Cotton and Mrs. Cotton and [[strikethrough]] Cotts [[/strikethrough]] their son, He, Allen, told me that the Yankees from Hillsboro were coming up to burn my place I did not believe the story about the Yankees but believe he intended to burn the buildings himself and lay it to someone Else - I do not Know that he committed the theft I only Know that he told the witnesses according to their statement - The first action I took in the matter was [[strikethrough]] after [[/strikethrough]] when I applied to Mr Moore for the writ against Allen last Saturday Allen left my place Tuesday Apl. 21. I did not Knows that he was to leave my place until I saw him morning I never ordered him to leave the place or authorized any other person to do so. -
