John A Cotton being duly sworn deposeth and says.
      I know Robert Allen he told me some time about two weeks after the February court that Mr. Denson better keep on heaving meaning heaving timber as Mr Thompson could need all that timber and further said he aimed to burn Mr.[(?)] to ashes. he further said he would burn Thompson up in the building if he was in there he asked me to assist in the burnings. I told him I did not care about helping him. I advised him not to burn the building he requested me not say any thing about it he was at work in Mr Thompsons farm at this time. he said Mr Thompson had not treated him right and he was going to burn the building for revenge. [(saw?)]  Thompson about three [[?]] weeks after this conversation and then told him about what Allen said. Thompson said he would watch out for him said Allen was none too good to do it. he said Robert Allen met me on the road about three miles from Mr Thompsons house and proposed to me to assist him to break into Thompsons smoke house and he could get the [(?)]  boys to help. I told him I had [[?]] Enough and did not want to have anything to do with it. saw Mr Thompson several days after and the first chance I got to speak with him privately
