Robert Allen Statement.

I live six miles west of Hillsboro, Ridge Meeting house, contracted verbally with Daniel Thompson who promised to give 3rd Crop, and because I would not vote as he wished, he told me I must leave, & go find another home. Said Thompson had promised to provide me with provisions to carry on the crop making, and because I did not leave the place as soon as he ordered me to, he sent one Jack Cotton to my house with a gun; Cotton knocked at my door at ten or twelve o'clock, Monday 20, April. I opened the door and Cotton came in and said there were twenty or thirty men around the house who were going to Kill me, but I did not see anyone but him.
