The Freedmen in this Town have been induced to buy a Small lot of land which is deeded in the name of three Colored trustees for the purpose of building a Church or School House thereon, trusting that they will be assisted by the Bureau, but they have done nothing further towards it except having cut Some blocks and Cills for the foundation, which if cut must be Still lying in the woods.

I have no permanent boarding place in this Town and can Only remain where I am At present untill I have paid Some Arrears of board which I owe.

The income derived from the fees is Small on Account of So mamy Coming from One House or family and As my Salary for the month of April is not come to hand I am inclined to think there is some mistake.

I leave the above to your consideration hoping you will soon do something to remedy the evil

Meanwhile
I remain Sir
