Office Sub. B.R. &c
Cotton Gin. Oct 31. 1867

Lt. J.P. Richardson
A.A.A.G.

There is one school house in Limestone Co. and I made a requisition for a teacher some time ago.- I have land which the freedmen bought in this Co. but the house they erected was burned by the Rebels in that vicinity. In Navarra it would be useless to build a school without an agent was Stationed there, and then I doubt its remaining very long. A Mr. Simmes said "before he would sell land or timber to erect Nigger School houses he would burn it"

Very Respectfully
Your obt. Svt
