Dallas, Texas. Dec 6th 1867 To the superintendent of Freedmen's schools State of Texas. Sir I was employed by Capt Horton, Agent of the Freedman's Bureau of this place, the first of October last to teach @ Freedman's school. I had not seen any thing of the Order relating to the salaries of Teachers employed in such schools being stopped until to day when I saw it in Flakes Bulletin Capt Horton is absent of present or I suppose he would write to you immediately. the school under my charge was in a very flourishing condition. The children were learning rapidly taking great interest in their school. The most of the Freedmen though whose children I taught are very poor and unless they receive assistance from the Government or some other source I don't think it will
