the last opposition has been made to my efforts.

Opposition was only made by  three or four individuals and when they found that they could not prejudice the minds of the colored people against the movement and that my action in organizing the school had your approval they "jumped into the harness" and at the public meeting on last Saturday evening not only by their presence but words favored the movement, and one of them has since made quite a liberal donation of stationery.

I expect to rent a house for a school room during the week as the room that I now occupy is very inconvenient.

Thankful for the encouragement which you have given me in this undertaking, which is bound to do more good than I at first saw.
