Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Circular No. 6 C.S. from Hd. Qrs. Bureau R.F. & A.L. which announces the summation, &c, &c. During the present months there have been only two (2) schools for Freedmen in my Sub -District, and, of the teachers of these schools, only one has seen any support from the Bureau. This teacher opened his school on the 27th of last month so that his school has been in progress only about a month. He now proposes to avail himself of the vacation announced in Circular No. 6. During the month that this schools has been in existence, quite a large number of scholars have been in attendance, a good deal of interest has been manifested by the scholars, and their parents, and I believe that a fair degree of progress
