Dear Sir our school commenced a fiew days since - The scholars have not all come in but are expected to do so soon. The heavy rains have mostly ruined our crops. More rain has fallen in the last three weeks than at any previous time of the year since I have been in Texas. The times are stiring and excitable here. The freedman are working well, but it would seem of late they are having many fusses among themselves. Many of which are instigated by whites I have no doubt. I will refer some of those cases soon.

Respectfully your Ob't Svt.
