I have the honor to enclose herewith the "Report" of George V. Young. Teacher of Freedmen School in this place.
I have visited the School during the Month several times, both night & day- and have found Mr Young & Wife always in attendance.
I am pleased to state that I have in some respects changed my opinion as to the ability & capability of Mr. Young. He is industrious & pains taking with his pupils and has advanced them far beyond my expectations.
I regret to state that Mr. Young is greatly disappointed and dissatisfied. He & as well as myself, understood Mr. Wheelocks letter of Febry 26th 1867, to actually give authority to open a Freedmen School under the auspices of
