In compliance with you Circular, dated Galveston, Texas, May 27th, 1867, I have the honor to report, that there is one School for colored children in this District. The same is not under control of the Bureau and was organized by Freedman John Matthews ordained Baptist preacher.

The teacher is freedman Harry Garrett.
