Enclosed I have the honor to forward a communication from Mr. Thomas L. Chase of San Marcos in Hayes Co. Mr. Chase is well known to me as a thoroughly loyal man and his recommendation is entitled to weight.

I believe Mr. Nesbit B. Jenkins to be a gentleman well qualified to teach the school and would recommend that he be employed at the rate of forty dollars per month.
