(20) Dollars Currency. If I succeed in getting it I will start a free school there on the first of next month. Mrs. Porter has concluded to teach

Miss Campbell says that she will not teach a free school unless she is paid the highest price that is paid to any teacher male or female.

I have not succeeded in getting a house yet to live in but am hopeful of success. As soon as I can get a house I shall go to housekeeping and take the teachers to board.

Jan 24" I saw Mr. Wright this morning and he has agreed to rent the church for school purposes at the rate of 20 Doll currency per month I hope to get the Methodist Church (col) families far enough in the course of a few months so that the school can be removed to it.
