HOUSTON ACADEMY,

Located in the City of Houston, Texas, and erected at a cost of some twenty-five thousand dollars--well supplied with all the modern educational appliances, and incorporated with full collegiate powers--opened its second scholastic year, on the 12th of December last, for the reception of students of both sexes.  

The Trustees would announce, that the Institution has been placed, for the ensuing five years, under the Superintendence of Prof. E. Pettit, A. M., (formerly President of Marshall University--latterly Principal of Palestine Female Institute,) who will be assisted by an experienced Faculty, in the following

DEPARTMENTS:
First, INFANT; Second, PRIMARY; Third, COMMON SCHOOL; Fourth, ACADEMICAL AND COLLEGIATE.

TUITION FEES:
6 1/4, 7 1/2, 10 AND 12 1/2 DOLLARS, RESPECTIVELY, PER TERM OF 10 WEEKS, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE.  MUSIC AND MODERN LANGUAGES, EXTRA.

The Terms will succeed each other without vacation, during the whole scholastic year, of forty weeks.
