Gilmer, Oct. 31. 1867

Lt. J. P. Richardson
A.A.A.G.

All seem anxious for the freedmen to be educated. L.P. Harris a justice of the Peace & Post master for many years was induced by the citizens (as was also his wife) to take the School which is in my opinion a good mark for them

We have two good schools of from 80 to 90 pupils

Very Respy &c
