having a tenement besides not paying their rent. over across the way here they lived before going down to the Blake house, they put the toilet out so it cost quite a little to fix. a family by the name of Maxwell they used to keep a boarding house, are gaining in where they moved out. so if they can keep warm they will probably stay & down stairs some one who works for Johnnie Woods so they both are reliable & hope they stay. if this letter dont read straight you must lay it to Mrs Barry she is telling me about the fair while I write. she had a wonderful time but I was glad to get off to bed & slept sound. never heard her when she came in at night. she goes again this afternoon but not to night. she is tired out then they are going to have the play, thats to raise money for the church Laura is coaching it they meet Friday night then when thats over guess 'twill finish them. 
I hope it warms up during the day. I am going easy on my oil. but so far the sun days heat up the house & morning & night we put on the oil. Alice heats her house with wood & lets it go out at night. the old house must be pretty cold in the morning. I am sorry about Gladys & hope as you say she gets over it well this better ought to go this morning. Ma
