soon however, this summer weather doesn't make one think of cold weather right away but it will come just the same. I got my second ton of coal for the same price as he said, after Mrs Barry reminded him of what he told me when I ordered my other ton before you came up. I have got two hundred galons of oil down cellar that I had put in during the summer & one morning some one moved the thermostat to 60 & it was cold enough so it went on, but it made the house feel good just the same. I got up early & turned it back. I dread thinking of this winter & wish this terrible war would cease there is nothing that seems to stop it so far. I should think by now we might hear from Lena I was glad she could go as it was so dear to her heart & so little cost to her. I would like to know what it was that she answered that caused her to get the chance to go on so long a trip & so little trouble & expense to her.

I hope you are al over your hurry & have more seasonable weather to enjoy like. will now close so to get this letter of in the mail. Ma
